I've successfully updated WeCAN to Drupal version 5.3. The update fixes a handful of security issues. I've also installed a few little modules to make your lives easier:

• Comment Subject: Automatically adds "Re: ..." as the subject of your comments.
• File Translit: Removes funky characters from the names of the files that you upload to keep WeCAN from crashing.
• Printer-Friendly Pages: Makes printing easy by removing everything from the page except the content you want.

However, WeCAN still has one major issue that I haven't managed to resolve: groups do not keep any tags that you assign them. This is obviously a big problem. Upgrading the groups module and the entire system haven't helped, so I've submitted a support request. I hope to get this resolved within the week.
