MULCH stands for Macalester Urban Land and Community Health. As our name suggests, one of our goals is to educate Macalester and the surrounding community about urban agriculture, environmental justice, food and gardening. We do this by maintaining a garden on the Macalester campus in St. Paul, Minnesota, offering skills and info workshops, hosting an annual Harvest Festival, and organizing trips during fall break to work on farms around the Midwest.
MULCH is one of the oldest student organizations at Macalester College. For the past few years, MULCH has provided fresh produce to Cafe Mac, the campus cafeteria, in exchange for seed money.
